Hep deHopcat and the Zoot Monsters are a new retro-boogy band out of Hell's Kitchen in NYC. Hep will be probably be performing with Dolly some night in late November at the HepHop. Hep was formerly the gansta rapper known as GranMasta Jiggycat. Hep is the only member of the Zoot Monsters whose favorite piece of jewelry is a Hartz Flea and Tick collar. The tune "Dance With A Dolly" was originally written in 1939 and recorded by Hep's hero, the legendary Cab Calloway -- among a whole mess of lesser Big Bands of the times. It is the only cover on the EP. All other songs are originals. |
